About 600 years ago, there were glass factories in Steinatal.Today, the remains of this period can be admired in the glass museum (at the church place, right next to the church). A hike to the Römerstein is also worth the effort. The Römerstein a is a reef from the former Zechsteinmeer (ancient sea). The rock consists of pure dolomite.
